Itoh Hybrids

These are the new kids on the block. These peonies are a cross between a tree peony and a herbaceous peony and have characteristics from both of the parents. The foliage and flowers resemble those of a tree peony but on a neat rounded bush growing to about 90cm in height that dies down to the ground in winter. Itoh hybrids have strong stems emerging from a woody crown so no staking or support is necessary. Maintenance is simple, cut down to the ground once the foliage has dropped.
